“I had a christening event at Anastasias as it’s opposite St Peters church. The day was made even more memorable by the way the staff looked after us. The food was so tasty and reminded me of my time travelling the Greek Islands. We were even allowed to smash some plates. Well worth the bill (which wasn’t as much as i thought it would be).â€

“I had my hen do at Anastasia and it was the best night out in St Albans I have ever had. The entertainment was brilliant, the food was very tasty and the wine equally as nice. They even bought out a cake for me which shows they care about their customers.

The disco was great fun as was the plate smashing. I would thoroughly recommend Anastasias for any event you want hosted. The staff are great and I am led to believe the final bill was very reasonable for our group of 15 girls.â€

“I had a family event at Anastasia’s recently and the customer service was fantastic. Costas the owner really looked after us, the food was amazing, great portions and we weren’t hurried out of the door.â€

“I love Greek food and the Meze at Anastasias really made me feel like I was back in Andros. Very good.â€

“I went here on a Friday with my girlfriend. We'd been to Bar Meze (both in St. Albans and Hitchin) and thought it was standard to order a selection of meze / tapas dishes.

On glacing at the menu we thought it was a touch expensive but having order 6/7 dishes, when they arrived we could see why. The portions for some of them were huge for tapas. Our own fault, as some were probably mains. We really struggled to get anywhere close to finishing the food we ordered - and we were starving when we got there.

On reflection it was better value than we first thought, it was just over £40 with a drink or two each. £50 with a tip.

We've seen a lot of work do's go here. With people spilling out onto the pavement outside the restaurant to smoke. Walking past it to head into town on a Friday or Saturday, it looks noisy on the majority of those nights.

Fortunately it was quiet the night we went. The food here is probably on par, possibly slightly better, than Bar Meze across the road.â€

“We had a lovely Sunday Lunch at Anastasias to celebrate my Father-in-Law's birthday.

We were a party of 6 including 2 young children.

The staff were extremely warm and welcoming. The restaurant has a warm ambience with attractive decor but not too over the top unlike some Greek restaurants.

The menu was easy to follow - £10 for a starter and main or £10.95 for a Meze. We opted for a combination of both. The food was plentiful and tasted delicious. Highly recommended is the Kleftico - so much meat and so tender.

There is a children's menu and we ordered the breaded chicken which is freshly cooked-so no 'birds eye' style food found here!

Overall an amazing experience and great value for money.

Can't wait to go back!â€

“A fairly upmarket family run Greek restaurant located in the town centre near the war memorial a few vegetarian options, but they do label fish as vegetarian, so choose carefully. The staff were very friendly, and welcoming. The hummus was excellent, as was the tzatziki. I will defiantly be going again.â€
